Edelbrock 1478 electric choke conversion kit the 1478 kit does not work on thunder series carburetors. Automatic choke or simply an auto choke is a simple choke which is operated electrically. If you have a performer series manual choke carburetor 1404 1405 1407 and 1412 you can use the electric choke conversion kit which is part 1478. When the choke is activated the amount of air entering the carburetor is reduced increasing the amount of fuel that enters.

That circuit is always unfused and you do not want to wire an electric choke to an unfused circuit. If the choke stays on too long or does not come all the way off then turn the choke housing clockwise until the choke just begins to open and stop and tighten the screws.
